Why is distilled water added to a enzyme catalysed reaction?

Distilled water is used to dilute the enzyme, and the substrates to a known concentration. Of course, buffers are used as well, and the d. water is usually added to that. Distilled water is used rather than regular tap water in order to be sure there aren't any impurities present.
