Has the AFL-CIO visited your house?

I got a knock at my door by a member of the AFL-CIO (ignoring the no soliciting signs at the neighborhood entrances) and he was trying to get me to sign a petition to stop the budget cuts in my state. I had to stop myself from grinning and politely said I wasn't in favor of that. He only had two signatures hahaha! Do these guys honestly even care if they bankrupt state governments to get their goodies?
