Can a Microsoft word doent made on MS Office 2007 be shown on a Mac without MS office 2007?

So I got microsoft office 2007, and i want to know if its doents are compatible and showable on a computer at school. that doesnt have it. this way i can be productive at home and jump ahead. I hope 2007 can show up on 2006 or the older version. BTW, how would you make a brochure on microsoft office 2007
