I found an awesome PC speaker system in Korea but will it not work in America?

Just about every electronic item there runs off of 220v and in america there is only 110v. Will I be able to run it safely if I buy a voltage transformer? Will the korean 60hz make a difference? I heard that pretty much only motors are affected by the change in hz. A couple of years ago I bought a japanese kotatsu heater table and it too was 220v but it runs just fine in america. do you think that it will be the same for this speaker sys? any help is very much appreciated! thanks!
