Did Saddam Hussein and his sons support women rights movement in Iraq ?

Actually at the beginning of his reign he did support the development of women. Before the Iran war Iraq had as many women in influential positions as any western nation and were gaining a rep as the America of the middle east then after the Iran war the coups and attempted overthrows started happening. He ged Kurds and fired or inated anyone in his regime that wasn't related to him and became the ruthless dictator we came to hate and loathe. Also his mother while she was alive was his unofficial #2 who he went to for advice and strategy planning.
